About

Twyla Malchow-Hay (she/they) is a fluid and queer interdisciplinary artist, bodyworker, and birthworker based in Berkeley, CA, with deep roots in the Pacific Northwest and Southern California. Their practice is shaped by a vast lineage of body based teachers, the Pacific ocean, the evergreens and waterfalls of Oregon, fairies, bibliomancy, the colors of the desert, astrology and myths, the wildness of the hills, and the howls of coyotes. Twyla explores across mediums such as dance, somatic movement, writing, collage, photography, visual mediums, and sound design to listen to and remember the stories and images that arise from the most precious sources of wisdom we all have: the natural world, the body, and dreams. The core of her artistic practice is a deep curiosity and awe of the mystery, magic, and miracle of being alive. Twyla collaborates with spirit to immerse audiences in the vivid landscapes and stories of her heart, and to remind them of their own.
